The David and Lucile Packard Foundation has been connected to the Los Altos and Los Altos Hills communities since our inception in 1964. As a resident of this local area for more than 45 years, the Foundation has been privileged to support and benefit from the community’s ongoing social and economic prosperity.

For the last decade, as the Foundation’s grantmaking programs expanded locally and around the world, staff and operations have been located in several different buildings across the community. Looking to the next twenty years, our Foundation will have ongoing space needs that we would like to meet by maintaining our connection to Los Altos.

New Building

In mid-2007, the Foundation began planning for a new building across the street from our offices on Second Street in Los Altos. Our goals with this project are to better accommodate our operations and bring them into closer alignment with the conservation goals of our founders and Trustees, while also working successfully with the Los Altos community.

We are excited about developing this project for Los Altos. As one of the first replicable Net Zero Energy buildings of its size in the nation, and a Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Platinum Certified building, it will be a valuable addition to the community and help further the mission of the Foundation.
